In 1997 I was selected as one of two vocalists to attend the Thelonious Monk Institute Jazz Colony at Jazz Aspen/Snowmass in Colorado. Vocalist/pianist Diana Krall (second from left) performed and worked with us that week as did Dr. Billy Taylor (second from right). This picture was taken shortly before I had the pleasure of performing with Dr. Taylor and his trio. Russell Malone, Diana's guitarist at the time, is not quite visible in the background wearing the white suit.
